James Scott Rogers, 79, Fayetteville, died June 21 at a Fayetteville hospital.
He was born August 24, 1900, at Japton, the son of Jacob J. and Sally Nelson
Rogers. He was a retired machinist with the Continental Can Company and a
Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Imogene) Sartin of Johnson; two
sisters, Mrs. Nettie Nickell of Hazel Valley and Mrs. Nola Harriman, Japton; two
grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday afternoon in Moore's Chapel with the Reverend Basil Ledford
officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Rogers, Luther Rogers, James Tyler, David Grigg, Kimmy
Ray Grigg, Gary "Butch" Gladden.
