Alfred J. Rogers, native of Madison county was born February 25, 1892, and died Friday, April 7, at his home near Japton. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at Japton with Robert M. Reed of Combs officiating. Burial was made at the Gross cemetery near there. The Bruce Brashears Undertaking Co. of Huntsville was in charge of the arrangements. The active pallbearers were: Sherman Sizemore, Lawrence Garrett, John Kizer, Lawrence Atha, Dave Kizer and George Thomas.
Besides a wife, Lena Rogers, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob J. Rogers; three sons, Wilburn of Farmington, Burdus of Japton and Raymond of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Edna Thomas of Harris, Mrs. Ewell Harriman of Japton, Mildred, Lucille and Luna of the home, four brothers and four sisters, also survive.
