4/03/2011 Family History shared by B Hankins: James Morrison Carlton went to Texas with his brother George Washington Carlton around 1858. James served in Co C 2nd Reg Kansas Cavalry/Union. Enlisted Sept. 1863 and furnished his own horse. He was captured by Confederates in September 1864, made his escape, and served until April 1865.
