Funeral service for Lloyd Arthur Woods, 62, a life-long resident of Westville, was held September 13 in the Hart Memorial Chapel. Rev. Franklin Simmons, pastor of the Methodist Church was the officiating minister. Music was provided by Mrs. Harold Ray Hart and Mrs. Jerry Tullis.
Woods, member of a pioneer Westville family, died September 11 in the Washington General Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born May 27, 1906, in Westville, Indian Territory, the son of Thomas Calvin and Sarah Jane Thurman Woods. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Pallbearers were J.C. Morris, Kenneth Morris, Burlan Woods, Terry Reed, Gene Russell and G.W. Parrott Flower bearers were Mrs. Fay Johnson, Mrs. Maudie Jefferies, Mrs. Mary Ann Reese, Mrs. E.C. Carmichael, Mrs. Woodrow Bowles, Mrs. Betty Self, Mrs. G.W. Parrott, Mrs. Helen Wrigley and Mrs. Oneita Heibert.
He is survived by his wife, Mable, of the home; one son, Vol Calvin, Westville; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Holt, Westville. Also, four grandchildren, Dixie Lee and Janice Holt, and Debbie and Vol David Woods; four brothers, Jim, Tom, Forrest, and Oliver, all of Westville; five sisters, Stella Langley, Nellie Tennant, Kate Harmon, Minnie Russell and Elsie Reed, all of Wetville.
Interment was in the Westville Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
