Joann Mahaffey 89, departed peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on July 31, 1934, in Clyde, Arkansas, to Archie Benton Reed and Ester Lou (Collins) Reed. Joann was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband, Hugh Mahaffey; her infant daughter, Barbara Sue Mahaffey; her brother, John Reed; sister-in-law, Irene Reed; and brother-in-law, Richard Haegele. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Liz Layman and husband Jim, Verna Hardin and husband Terry; Ken Mahaffey and wife Nancy; her sister, Bonnie Haegele; her brothers, Leonard "Archie" Reed and Howard Reed along with his wife, Ginger. Joann’s joyous life is celebrated and cherished by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, with another blessed addition on the way, numerous nieces, nephews and a slew of friends! Her vibrant spirit and abiding faith were evident in the love she instilled in her family, encouraging kindness and a deep, enduring love for Jesus in all aspects of life.
