Larry was a great guy. He always offered a handshake and big smile every time we met. We served together in Lions Club and School Board for years. I always felt welcome at PG Auto anytime I went by for a cup of coffee. Also his personality fit very well as a greeter at PG Christian Church. He will be missed.

Larry, saying you're a true friend is an understatement. You were always there when I needed help with something. Whether it was spreading gravel on my driveway or painting my Richard Petty car. You were a real lifesaver when it came to all my oddball projects. A lot of times there wasn't a specific part for what I needed, but all I had to do was tell you what I was trying to do and you would figure out what I needed. Thanks for helping me keep my junk going for the past 43 years. I couldn't have done it without you. I miss you buddy.

I have been buying parts from Larry for as long as I can remember. I always considered him a good friend more than just my parts guy. always loved talking with Larry and swapping stories back and forth. Words cannot express how much I will miss him. I know he is in a better place now, and I long for that day when I can see him again in heaven.

I pray that the Lord will comfort his family thru this time.

Larry was my most frequent and friendly connection to school days gone by in Prairie Grove. We were classmates and football teammates, graduating in 1973. I pulled out my 1973 Prairie Grove School Annual last night which, of course, had only black and white photos, long haired students, fat ties, and short basketball shorts featured in it. In the annual, was the commencement program listing all 27 students graduating that year. In 70’s fashion, our class song was the spoken-word song, Desiderata. That makes me wish my blue leisure suit and white platform shoes still fit. In Larry and Karen’s parts store, Larry would smile and bring up memories of our high school days. Plus, he was exceptionally helpful with his advice. We worked together for decades at the Clothesline Fair with the Lion’s Club. Larry was a good man, a good citizen of Prairie Grove, a good businessman, a good family man, and a good friend. We also shared our faith in Jesus, our eternal hope.

From the moment our son Tim asked us to come to Prairie Grove to meet Val's family, we knew our family was blessed to be a part of something so special. Karen, you and Larry welcomed us with open arms and embraced Tim completely. He has now lost the best father-in-law a guy could ever have. We are so deeply saddened by Larry's passing. He was one of a kind. Always made you feel so important. To Karen, Val, Tim, Rachel, William and Kaid, Brighton, Cooper and Louis....our hearts break for your loss but we know that Larry is guiding you from Heaven, just like he did on earth.

This is a tough loss; and he will be missed; not only by us; he will be missed by the community as well. A fine person with a great wit about him. He would bend over backwards for the people who came to the store. It was a shock and I am saddened that we were not able to go to the funeral. I was shared the information after the funeral had already occurred. I wish to pass my condolences from the Burgess family to the Crawley family

Karen & family

We are so sad & devastated to hear about Larry’s passing. He was always so helpful in the store making sure he done everything possible to fix your problem. If he was having a bad day no one would ever know. He was always upbeat & smiling. This community has lost a great man and will forever be missed.

Prairie Grove will never be the same without the smile and kindness of Mr. Larry! Many times our family stopped in to get parts and if Larry didn’t have something he knew how to make it happen quick. His smile radiated! He was such gentleman when it comes to helping the ladies carry something out that he felt was just to heavy. Many times he would famously say “take this and if it fits then come back and pay me, if not well will find something that does”.

To the family we send our condolences and much prayers as you face the coming days! 🙏

Rarely does a fellow find a good parts house these days. When I found PG Auto, I always made it a point to get my parts from Larry and Karen from that point on. They always made me feel like I had been a customer for years, and genuinely appreciated my business. Larry was always a joy to visit with. The same extends to Rachel and William. So sorry for your loss.

I got to know Larry well over the last 18 years. He NEVER failed to ask how I was doing, and how work was going every time I walked into the store. He genuinely cared about people and was interested in his customers. When he found out I played music, he and Karen came out to a show to see me. He also helped me figure out issues on my old cars many times. His famous words were "Joey take this home and try it first and see if it fits before you pay." Of course, it almost always did fit, because Larry knew his stuff. He was a great guy and this whole community will never be the same without him.

Karen, Lisa and I are so very saddened to hear about your loss, we started trading with Larry when we moved to Prairie Grove in the early 80’s and just a couple weeks ago I went by the shop and visited with Larry. He always had a solution for my needs when not many parts houses did.

See ya soon brother,

Such a great Man. A family man and great friend. We met in 1986 when my family bought Crescent department Store. Having coffee one morning Larry and Karen welcomed me and my family to town. Larry and I struck up a friendship and I was invited to the Crawley Farm to hunt. Was always treated like family. It’s not goodbye but so long my friend. You will be missed.

I moved here about 20 years ago, and there were many Prairie Grove citizens who welcomed me into the community. But none quite like Larry.

From helping me become my own shade-tree mechanic, to playing golf, to putting me on one of the biggest deer I have hanging on my wall today, he was a true friend.

I always enjoyed our conversations and the time we spent together on Crawley Road.

Larry was an unbelievable man with an amazing family that has touched so many lives, including mine.

“Well done” is something I know you’ve already heard, but I want to say it again.

Well done, my friend!!!
