Charles Toshio Milmon
Age 73, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born March 7, 1951 in Houston, Texas, the son of Carl W and Suyeko "Sue" (Nakashima) Milmon.
Charles spent his early years in Concord, California, where he graduated from Mt. Diablo High School. He furthered his education at Devry University in Arizona, equipping himself with skills that would define his career.
Charles served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era, a period that shaped much of his later commitment to discipline and excellence. After his military service, he embarked on a career as an Electronic Technician in California and later worked in maintenance operations for Cargill in Springdale, Arkansas.
Throughout his life, Charles was deeply involved in church activities. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Concord, where he engaged in youth programs such as AWANA. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, he taught Sunday School at Memorial Baptist Church, and after moving to Fayetteville, he became a part of University Baptist Church, continuing his engagement in community and faith-based initiatives.
Charles's hobbies included reading, watching Western movies and shows, and caring for animals, especially cats. He found peace and joy in sitting in his backyard, enjoying the rose garden his wife nurtured, which was a source of great pride and relaxation.
Charles's life was marked by his quiet dedication to his work, his faith, and his hobbies, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and reliability. His contributions to his communities and his service to his country will be remembered by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Daniel Milmon.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years Rachel Milmon; two children Staff Sgt. John Milmon of Shalimar, Florida, and Abigail Milmon of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother William Milmon and wife Nancy and one sister Jewel Childres all of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; five nieces Jacquelyn, Jocelyn, Tiffany, Michelle, and Nicole.
