Obituary

Allan Leon Pershall, 60, of Cedarville and Evansville passed away March 24, 2015. He was welcomed to this world on January 27, 1955 by Millie and Allen Pershall, and his sister Janie.

He is survived by his sons Dillon Hobbs & Daniel Turpin and their mother Debra Parmenter-Pershall; his brother-in-law Jim Curtis & his wife Debbie; his niece Gina Curtis Clark, her husband Marty, and sons Paxton & Hudson; his nephew Chris Curtis and his children Sam, Casey & Wes; and his uncle Richard Pershall.

Leon valued his family and friends over everything else in life. He never met a stranger and was loved and valued by many. Leon was big and tough on the outside, but had a huge heart. He was a phenomenal son to Millie & Allan, a solid rock and constant companion to Janie, a tremendous father to Dillon and Daniel, and a loyal & generous friend to many.

Leon was an announcer at Crawford County Speedway and had a life-long passion for going to the races with his friends. He also loved the outdoors and had a green thumb. Leon always kept a garden, loved to fish and dreamed of selling it all and living off the land in Alaska. Yet his family and friends were always more important to him.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, AR. There will not be a visitation or grave side service.

Pallbearers will be Dillon Hobbs, Greg Preston, Chris Marion, Marc Maness, Thurman Blanton and Waymon Harris. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Turpin, Wyatt Maness, Jim Price, John Stand and Anderson Terry.

Leon was a good friend of mine for over 35 years. He had such a good heart and he loved his family and friends with all he had. The last couple of years had been hard on him with his illness. We spent hundreds of hours on the phone talking about the old days; fishing, kids etc. I did not know Leon had passed until after his funeral or Lord knows I would have been there. I will always miss our long talks and his laughter as he was like the big brother I never had. God bless you my dear friend and my love always, Kathrine

I met a good man that lived next to me.

A good man that became family through marriage.

A good man that taught me few things in life.

The man I knew was true honest and good to the soul.

He helped everyone

Always smiling

And positive

The good man I knew loved unconditionally

So I will say this

I will take the things I learned from the good man I knew and pay it forward.

May you rest in peace Leon.

I first met Leon at Crawford county speedway. I was selling 50/50 in the pits. I had a job on Saturday and would always take my dinner from down. Leon would tease me and always said I always bought good food to eat. He always had that smile on his face. If you were his friend he was there for you. Leon I love you and cherish our friendship. May you rest in peace now and never hurt or suffer in this old world again. Givem hell on the racetrack in heaven. I can't wait to see you in heaven my friend.
