FAYETTEVILLE -- Gladys Iola Newlin, 90, of Fayetteville died March 9, 2008, at her home. She was born July 25, 1917, in Norton, Kan., to George Arthur Hughes and Beatrice Iola Gerard Hughes.

She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Lou Sargent and one granddaughter, Pam Denzer.

Survivors include her husband, Dale Newlin of the home; three daughters, Peggy Smothers and husband Don of Rogers, Shirley Smith and husband Rex of West Fork and Jackie Long of West Fork; one son, Doug Newlin of West Fork; son-in-law, Emery Sargent of West Fork; 11 grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville, www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Fairview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Scott Miller officiating.
