May 6, 1926 - Joseph M. Dodson, age 78, died 30 April near Whitener and was buried in Wesley Cemetery. Children: W. G. Dodson of Locust Grove, OK, M. E. Dodson of Tulare, CA, Mrs. Josie Clark of Hindsville, Mrs. Nan Clark of Goshen, Mrs. Lizzie Sharp of Mayfield and J. A. Dodson of Whitener. Also a brother Wm. Dodson of Modesto, CA, a half-brother John Wagnon of Locust Grove, OK, and two half-sisters - Mrs. Amanda Johnson of Hindsville and Mrs. Lou Ingraham of Texas.

J.M. Dodson filed Veteran Application #20914 with the Confederate Pension Board of

Madison County for a Confederate pension and it was received as allowed August 15, 1917

with the State, citing service with Company I, 16thArkansas Cavalry from 1863 thru 1865. Mr.

Dodson died April 30, 1926. His widow, Jane Dodson filed Widow Application #20914 with the

Confederate Pension Board of Madison County for a Confederate widow pension and it was

received as allowed August 19, 1926 at the State. [State of Arkansas Confederate Pension
