Oklahoma on October 11, 1910. He was adopted
when he was three years old by Will and Junie
Pennell of Skylight Mountain near Morrow,
Arkansas. •
L. D. became a Christian in his youth.
He has been a member of the Methodist Church
since his conversion. He was a member of the
All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle
Rock, Missouri at the time of his death.
L. D. was married to Bessie Irene Cuzick
on May 23, 1938 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
They lived in Tulsa and San Diego before
moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1942. They
lived in the Phoenix area for nineteen years.
During their stay in Arizona, several of
the Cuzick children spent a year at a time
with them.
L. D. worked as an aircraft sheetmetal
worker for the nineteen years they were in
Arizona. He suffered a major heart .attack
in 1961. They then moved to Arkansas to
retire and to be close to their aging parents .
The last thirteen years of L. D.'s life was
spent in the Chain-O-Lakes Village on the
edge of Table Rock Lake in Eagle Rock, Missouri.
He and Bessie celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on May 23, 1988 with a
"campout" in Branson, Missouri.
L. D. was a very avid fisherman--loved
to get his quota of trout from Roaring River
State Park early in the day. He also enjoyed
a good game of "hearts" and lately the game
had been "84" played with dominoes.
L. D. leaves behind his wife, Bessie;
a brother, James Neese and two nephews; a host
of friends and relatives. His Cuzick family
"in-laws" grieve the loss of a wonderful
brother-in-law and their "social chairman".
