He was born July 4, 1933 in Sunset the son of Pleasa Garfield and Lula Evelyn Davis Terry. Lee retired from the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant after 27 years serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired as the Chief of Police for the Prairie Grove Police Department after 22 years in law enforcement.
