Campbell, Edward
BANKER DIES
Edward Campbell, wealthy oil man and banker of Oklahoma, passed away suddenly Sunday at his home at Nowata, Oklahoma, according to a telephone message received here by Mr. Campbell's niece, Mrs. Grover McCormick, Mr. Campbell was a native of Virginia and his wife was an Indian princess, daughter of Chief Journeycake, last of the Delaware chiefs who was an educated man and graduate of Harvard.
He is survived by his daughter Princess Nin-go-me-now Mrs. Eugene Lawson) of Nowata, Nowata's most prominent citizen, a grandson, Edward Campbell Lawson, attending college in Missouri, and by several nieces and nephews and other relatives. some of whom reside at Prairie Grove.
The Campbell family is one of the oldest and best families of Virginia and the Lawson family is also prominent in Oklahoma.
