Bettie J. Van Fleet

Bettie J. Rankin, 65, of Siloam Springs died Oct. 21, 2011, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. She was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Siloam Springs and raised by her grandmother, Josephine Van Fleet. She was a homemaker and won many awards at fairs for her canning and jellies. Survivors include a son, Randall Bryson and wife, Jeanie, of Decatur; a daughter, Beverly Harris and husband, Dale, of Decatur; three stepdaughters, Rhonda Calkins of Bella Vista and Tonja Tagg and Taria Hannold, both of Gentry; two stepsons, James Rankin of Washington and Tommy Rankin of Gentry; a brother, Don Van Fleet of Gentry; a half brother; five half sisters, including Donna Helmick of Rogers and Mary Hudson of Siloam Springs; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 24 at Wasson funeral home. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery. NWA Times, Rogers, AR 10-22-2011
