Research Notes

Carl attended University of Montana where he became a brother of the Montana Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) in 1926 and graduated with the Class of 1930. He was commissioned an Infantry Officer & Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army 09 JUN 1930, and served in the Army until his transfer to the Army Air Corps in late 1941 or early 1942. It is likely that Carl became an Air Force officer when the Army Air Corps became the Air Force in 1947. He married Clara Burkhardt in Denver, CO on 15 AUG 1936.
