Minnie Mae Franklin Rankin was the daughter of Alonzo Turner "Lon" and Sarah Francis Rosebud "Frankie" Crossno Franklin. She married Alvin Barton Rankin about 1936 in Conway Co., Arkansas. Minnie Mae and Alvin were the parents of three sons. Minnie owned and operated Minnie Pearl's Beauty Salon in Morrilton for many years. Aunt Minnie Mae Franklin Rankin was my dad's sister and he adored her. His pet name for her was 'Shorty' as she was 4'11" and he was 6'4". The only time in my life that I ever heard my dad call her by her name was when they disagreed about putting my Granddad in a Nursing Home. My Dad wanted Granddad to live with us. ************************************
