Research Notes

William Rankin, and his wife Mary Huston who was born in Feremish, Ireland County Antrim in 1712, came to American in 1720 with his parents who family records describe as being of the titled landed gentry of Scotland, landed at Philadelphia and settle in Chester County, Pennsylvania. William later marred in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and he died there in 1792. The youngest of eight children of william and his wife Mary was david Rankin who was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1745.
