Helen A. Wick, 85, of St. Peter died at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Visitation will be held at the Le Center Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 25 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Le Center.
Helen was born in Ivanhoe, MN on April 4, 1925, to Albert and Hulda (Anderson) Widmark. She attended country school and graduated from Ivanhoe High School. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1947 then was united in marriage to Edward Wick on November 25, 1947 in Ivanhoe. Ed was a retired Air Force Officer, so he and Helen enjoyed traveling and adventuring together. They raised six children, in whom Helen took great pride. She loved her family and enjoyed fishing and ballroom dancing. She and Ed spent 25 winters in McAllen, Texas, and did much traveling in Mexico.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ed; six children, Barbara & Tom Burke of Bartlett, IL, Susan Wick of Waterville, Scot & Fumiko Wick of Munster, IN, Bonnie & Scott Hrdlichka of Maple Grove, Gary & Brenda Wick of Le Center and Rob Wick of Le Sueur; two sisters, Lorraine Nelson and Kay Wickert; brother, John & Margaret Widmark; 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters; and 2 great-grandsons.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold; sister, Ione; and brother-in-law, Arlan Nelson.
