Harold E. Hulse, 79, of the Wheeler Community, Ark., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, in Fayetteville, Ark., surrounded by his family. He was born Feb. 17, 1932, in the Wheeler Community, to Russell Hulse and Rosa (Ratliff ) Hulse.
Mr. Hulse was retired after 37 years from the Ball Corporation and was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department, U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1952-1956, the Clear Creek Coon Hunters Association and was inducted into the Arkansas Coon Hunters Hall of Fame,
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Travis Hulse; and one brother, Howard Hulse.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty; one son, Jamie Hulse of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Traci Bailey and husband Steve of Wheeler, Ark., and Kristi Carpenter and husband Scott of West Fork, Ark.; one brother, Doug Hulse and wife Joyce of Lincoln, Ark.; two sisters, Dorothy Walkingstick and husband Ralph of Hulbert, Okla., and Margie Ball and husband Truman of Baldwin, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Kelton and Josi Gay and Hallie Carpenter.
Graveside funeral services was held 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville, with Pastor Don George oft ciating.
A gathering of family and friends was held immediately after the service at the Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department; Mount Comfort Cemetery Fund; or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
