She was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Japton, Ark., to the late Fred and Sissie Sue Ross Rogers. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors: daughter, Lynda Cooley of Beeville; sons, Len Merritt of Beeville and Allen Merritt of Livingston; sisters, Ola Simms of Fayetteville, Ark., and Alta McCarver of California; brother, Kenneth Rogers of Fayetteville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Dillen Merrit; parents; grandson, Eddy Johnson. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. tonight at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel.
