Son of Jonah (Jonas) Sparks & Elizabeth KNOX Sparks Husband of Margaret KIRK Sparks, married 25 January 1857 in Hancock County, Illinois His tombstone shows the name "Jonah Sparks", however on all of the census, land records, and other documents that I can find, he is listed as Jonas. Jonas died in the winter of January 1892 (family data shows it to be January 1891) and was buried in his orchard under a peach tree. Family information says it was a cold winter which made digging the grave a difficult task. The grave was covered with rocks and he had no tombstone. The tombstone shown in the picture was put up by his descendants in 2000. Jonas' grandson is also buried here beside him, but does not have a marker. Also buried here near the pile of rocks that cover the graves, are the Light twins and they don't have a marker either.
