Noel Graves Rutherford

RUTHERFORD, Noel Grave - Died at home in Mountain township Dec. 26th, 1875, Noel Grave Rutherford, in the seventieth year of his age. The subject of the above notice was born in Cook county, Tenn. Dec. 19th, 1806, removed with his Father and settled on the place where he died in August 1830 where he lived and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him for nearly a half century. He was never married, but raised several families of orphan children who were his chief delight and many followed him to the grave weeping. He was truly a good man, “an Israelite indeed in whom there was no guile.” [Fayetteville Democrat 1/8/76]
