THE EDMISTON’S OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS

CYNTHIA3 EDMISTON, (David,2 etc.), was born 15 Aug.1799 in Tenn.; still living 1880, aged 80 years, at the home of her daughter, Fanny Evins. She married 20 May 1819 in Clark Co., Ark., to John Ish, (son of John and Elizabeth (Keppener) (Ish), b. 23 April 17861 in Pennsylvanian; died Oct. 1857 in Washington Co., Ark.
The Ish homestead was 11on the south bank of the Holston River about eight miles from the Tennessee. n General Sevier, with 400 troops, camped there in Sept. 1793. John Ish, senior, was killed in 1794 by a Creek Indian, near Knoxville, Tenn.
John and Cynthia Ish lived in Clark Co., Ark., until 1828 when they came to Washington County, Ark., and settled near Marrow.
His will was probated 3 Nov. 1857, in Washington County. His wife was named as executrix. His children were mentioned but not named.
Witnesses were George Morrow, J.K. Ish, and J.B. Crozier.
