THE EDMISTON’S OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS

(21) MOSES A.4 EDMISTON (John Thompson,3 etc.), was born ca. 1822 in Washington Co., Ark. J died 1857, aged 35; married 17 Dec. 1846 to Lucinda Jane Diven, (Dau. of Erbin and Hannah (Crawford) Diven). Hannah was born in Va. in l805. Lucinda Jane was born in 1829 in Tenn. She married secondly to William Pasley.
In Dec. 1855, H.A. Edmiston and Lucinda Jane Edmiston, his wife, sold to Hannah Diven, for 160, a tract of 40 acres. Witnesses were: A.E. Edmiston and Sima Dearing.
Deed Bock N-15, Dec. 1855, Moses A. Edmiston was administrator for the estate of H.E. Edmiston, deceased, and sold to Lafayette Marrs, as highest bidder, for $365.00, a tract of 4O acres. (Moses had evidently been appointed aa administrator after the death of Samuel Neely Edmiston, who was the original administrator of this estate.)
On 2 March 1859, John William. Mack Ninch Wham and Elizabeth M. Wham, his 'Wife’, for $300.00, sold a tract of 120 acres to Lucinda Jene Edmiston. The witnesses were J.C. Diven and Wm. W. Brownlee.
On 9 May 1860, Lucinda Jane Edmiston was appointed guardian for James E. Diven E., Francis Fand Albert A. Edmiston.
On 16 April 1879, D.G. (or C.) Edmiston and Moses A. Edmiston and Lucinda Jane Pasley sold to William H. Rhea, for $400.00, a tract of 8O acres. The witness was M.M. Crawford. (NOTE-Is this an error in this statement? Should names be Diven E. am Albert "Edmiston?)
On 29 April 1879, Francis F. Edmiston and Mary E. Edmiston, his wife, sold to W. H. Rhea, for $250.00, a tract of 8O acres. On the same date, James E. Edmiston and Helen Edmiston, his wife, sold to W.R. Rhea, for $250, a tract of 8O acres.
