T.J. ABSHIER Funeral service was held Tuesday at Prairie Grove for T.J. Abshier, father of Irby Abshier of Fayetteville, who died December 23 at Fullerton, California, where he has been living with his children for the last five years. Services at the Luginbuel Chapel conducted by the Rev. G.C. Bidwell pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Mr. Abshier, who was born in Marianna September 4, 1857, moved with his family to Washington County when he was 11, and spent most of his life as a farmer near Prairie Grove. Survivors in addition to the Fayetteville son, include three other sons, all of California. Ray, Mack and Vol; one daughter Mrs. Mamie Souther of California; and one brother, George, of Siloam Springs, and a number of grandchildren and other relatives here and in California. Pallbearers were, Walter Carl, Jim Parks, Mack Morrison, Jim Phillips, Williams Brown, Walter Tennant, Johnny Wilson and Russell Broyles. Norhwest Arkansas Time December 29, 1949
