Marilyn June Glidewell Pederson 84 a resident of Monterey, California, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2019 in Monterey, California. She was born July 21, 1934 in Lincoln, Arkansas, the daughter of Olva Earl and Jettei Laura Freeman Glidewell. June, as she was lovingly know to family and friends, graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Jim Pederson of Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1956 and raised a daughter Laura. She moved to Santa Ana, California in 1958 where she began a career in Orange County where she worked in the County’s Department of Public Social Services for many years. After retirement she transitioned between California with family. June was preceded in death by daughter Laura Hilliker, her parents and four brothers and sisters, Jonnie Belle (Glidewell) Rodgers, Joy Dell (Glidewell) Butzbach, James and Leland Glidewell. She is survived by grandsons Steven Pederson of Vine Grove, Kentucky and Pederson James Hilliker of Monterey, California, former husband Jim Pederson of Carmel Valley, California and son in law Jim Hilliker of Monterey, California and numerous nephews and nieces. Family plans for a Celebration of Life honoring June are pending.
