David Ashley Edmiston

THE EDMISTON’S OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS BY ALLAN S. HUMPHREYS (20) DAVID ASGKET 4 EDMISTON, (David Crawford, 3 etc.), was born 20 Oct. 1850; died 3 Feb. 1923; married 26 Feb. 1870 to Cornelia Jane Leach, born 24 Aug. 1851; died 10 May 1942 or 1943. They are both buried in Edmiston Cemetery. They spent their entire lives on the family homestead which came to Ashley from his father. Many of his sisters and brothers came back “home” to spend their last years and are buried in the family cemetery. In the fall of 1886, David Ashley, had a stone wall built around the cemetery end double iron gates at the entrance. Unlike most family cemeteries, this plot is in excellent condition and each year decoration services are held on a Sunday near the beginning of June.
