Notes for MAGGIE ALICE HENLEY: Discussion with Miriam Dark Sims 4/5/2002 (age 99) at home, Renfroe, Talladega, AL: Hugh's Mother died of "terminal under nourishment" (would be Maggie Alice Henley Sims who died in 1902 at the age of 28). Also stated that Maggie was bedridden for several years prior to her death. Hugh (Maggie's son, Miriam's husband) told Miriam (aka Me maw) that he remembered his Mother reaching out her arms to him (when she was in bed) to beckon him to come to her so she could hold him. Discussion with Annie Laurie Sims Porter 4/2002: Stated that Maggie had died of TB, as did 2 of her sisters. It is believed that TB was contracted due to poor diet and undernourishment.
