James Troy Winn of Catoosa,OK passed away on March 6, 1995 of lung cancer. He was 72. He was born on April 2, 1922 to Emmett & Ethel (Miller) Winn of Blackburn,AR. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, starting in January of 1943 to January of 1946, he served in the South Pacific. Troy met Lovada Almalee Maggard and married her on December 19, 1946 in lincoln, AR. Together they operated a service/gas station in Westville,OK until 1958. He moved to the Inola, Ok area and rented a garage in Catoosa. He later bought a home across from that garage and once he was established built a larger 4 stall garage. He worked in the garage and serviced Catoosans including many farmers of the area. He himself owned some 20+ cattle and would bale hay in the summers. He was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ and served God faithfully until his death. At the time of his death his wife Lovada was still alive and he had 2 sons and 3 daughters and 12 grandchildren. Children: Henry James Winn & wife Linda Iris (Able); Joyce Ann Winn (Laudett); Glenn Lee Winn & wife Karen Rene (Hurn); Glenna Bea Winn (Wall); Lisa Dianne Winn (Taylor) and 12 grandchildren. My father was a kind man and would always help a neighbor who was struggling. He rebuilt many trucks, broke the ice on ponds in the winter for his cattle, always enjoyed cutting up with his children.
