John B Gold served in the Civil War. He joined Company G (2nd) 38th VA Infantry on 20 Jun 1861 in Clarksville, VA, under Gen. Lewis A Armistead. He served in the infantry from 20 Jun 1861 until he transfered to the 14th VA Infantry on 27 Jun 1862. On 2 Jan 1864 he was detailed as a teamster for Gen. Armistead. He served with Gen.
