Russell Layne Russell Layne, 91, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Savoy, Ark., to Jess Layne and Grace Luttrell Layne. He married Opal Dees in 1956 in Fayetteville, Ark. He was a farmer and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Siloam Springs Riding Club and the Weddington Missionary Baptist Church in Wedington, Ark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Dees Layne; and a son, John Sisk. Survivors include three sons, Larry Layne of Colcord, Okla., James Layne of Yakima, Wash., and Ellis Sisk of Springdale, Ark.; two daughters, Mary E. Pool of Yakima, Wash., and Naomi Ridenour of Fayetteville, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Weddington Missionary Baptist Church in Wedington, Ark., with the Rev. Phil Misenheimer. Burial will be at the Weddington Cemetery, near Wedington.
