Lawrence D. Clayton 86, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away May 29, 2008 at his home. He was born October 21, 1921 at Farmington, Arkansas, the son of Roy Brewster and Ruth Bristow Clayton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington, Arkansas. Lawrence was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, The National Rifle Association. During his service in the military he was in five major battles in the European Theater including the battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. He was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Loftin. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Imogene Clayton of the home; one daughter, Sherry Anne Manion of Bentonville, Arkansas; one brother, Ivan Clayton of Farmington, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Layne of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Beccy Pollock of Bentonville, Arkansas, and David Manion of Farmington, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Breanna Manion of Rogers, Arkansas, Haley and Carson Pollock of Bentonville, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 - 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Farmington in Farmington, Arkansas with Bro. Barry Smith officiating; Interment will be in the Farmington Cemetery.
