Lucy Irene Hicks 94, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away February 16, 2012 at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. She was born March 27, 1917 in Fayetteville, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Betty Drake Counts. She was a member of the Senior Basketball Team. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford G. Hicks, one son, David Gerald Hicks; one brother, Doyle Counts; five sisters, Bessie Brooks, Gertie Paris, Jewel Martin, Bernice Marcum and Eda Lee VanHoose. Survivors include one grandson, William M. Hicks and one great-grandson, Alexander Toshi Wright.
