He was adopted when he was three years old by Will and Junie Pennell of Skylight Mountain near Morrow, Arkansas. • L. D. became a Christian in his youth. He has been a member of the Methodist Church since his conversion. He was a member of the All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock, Missouri at the time of his death. L. D. was married to Bessie Irene Cuzick on May 23, 1938 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They lived in Tulsa and San Diego before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1942. They lived in the Phoenix area for nineteen years. During their stay in Arizona, several of the Cuzick children spent a year at a time with them. L. D. worked as an aircraft sheetmetal worker for the nineteen years they were in Arizona. He suffered a major heart .attack in 1961. They then moved to Arkansas to retire and to be close to their aging parents . The last thirteen years of L. D.'s life was spent in the Chain-O-Lakes Village on the edge of Table Rock Lake in Eagle Rock, Missouri. He and Bessie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 23, 1988 with a "campout" in Branson, Missouri. L. D. was a very avid fisherman--loved to get his quota of trout from Roaring River State Park early in the day. He also enjoyed a good game of "hearts" and lately the game had been "84" played with dominoes. L. D. leaves behind his wife, Bessie; a brother, James Neese and two nephews; a host of friends and relatives. His Cuzick family "in-laws" grieve the loss of a wonderful brother-in-law and their "social chairman".
