Clarence Charles "Pete" Sargent
84 a resident of Strickler, Arkansas went home to be with his Lord on January 7, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born August 30, 1925 near Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the son of Charles W. and Iva Mulvina Crawley Sargent.
He was a member of the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church where he had previously served as Deacon. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clyde Sargent, six sisters, Lorraine Skelton, Maudeline McKee, Dolly Kidd, Alma Caviness, Louise Prater and Belle Prater.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Winn Sargent of the home; two children, Roy Gene Sargent of Lexington, South Carolina, and Karen Sue Mitchell and her husband, Larry of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Kara Bryan and her husband, Dirk of Lincoln, Arkansas, and Jeremy Holmes and his wife, Misty of Strickler, Arkansas; two great grandchildren, Lane Holmes of Strickler, Arkansas and Dirk Bryan II of Lincoln, Arkansas; three brothers, Clinton Sargent of Strickler, Arkansas, Hank Sargent and Chester Sargent both of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one sister, Bonnie Anderson of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church near Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Glen Faulkner and Randy Burris officiating. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery in Strickler, Arkansas, there will be no grave side services held.
Pallbearers will be: Troy "Bub" Bond, Harley Prater, Danny Sullins, Robert Brockman, David Cross, Roy Hawkins, Charles Holmes and Ray Dobbs.
