Dorothy Carrie Friggel

Dorothy Carrie Friggel Rankin was born on Wednesday, March 28, 1923, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the fifth child of James and Carrie (Boyer) Friggel. She passed this life on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 101 years of age at her home in Broken Arrow.

She graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1940 and began her working career. She began at McDonnell Douglas during World War II as a riveter. She also later worked as a screen printer. She always enjoyed all of her pursuits and also worked at Spartan, Multicolor, Burtek, and Boeing. She did not retire until late in life.

Dorothy enjoyed Saturday shopping with her mother, sister, and nieces for years. In August 1964, she married Charlie Rankin.

Dorothy loved her coworkers, friends, and especially her family. She was caretaker to her mother in later years and still continued to work.

Dorothy is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, and she is also survived by many great and great great nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law Linda Friggel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Carrie Friggel; her siblings Lucille Mayfield, Jeanne Linell, Arlene Jackson, James Friggel, Lois Peterson, Bill Friggel, and John Friggel, and numerous nephews and nieces.
