Hugh and his twin brother, High, were born in a covered wagon in Indian Territory near the community of Weer, Oklahoma.
They were delivered by Doctor Darnell. Their parents were not anticipating twins.

Hugh Miller, was born in Weer, OK, on January 15, 1905 and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2000. He is survived by: his loving wife of 47 years, Bertha Mae of the home; son, Carl Miller of Kingman, AZ; daughters, Laura Chapman of Riverside, CA, Bonnie Agee of Kingman, AZ, Wanda Hanna, also of Kingman, AZ and Faye Bench of Coweta; brother, John W. Miller of Turley; nephew, Claude Miller of Sperry; step-sons, Clyde Reynolds of Broken Arrow and Loyd Reynolds of Tulsa; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his twin brother, High; brothers, Ray, Odis and Charlie; and sisters, Cora and Lula. Hugh served in the U.S. Army Cavalry that chased Poncho Villa up and down the Rio Grande River, retired after working many years as an Auctioneer and was a member of Bethel Baptist Temple. Service is to be held on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Temple with Pastor Watie Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Service.
