Georgetown, Madison County, Arkansas
Betty L. Hulse, 79 of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, June 10, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born May 30, 1939 in Georgetown, Arkansas, the daughter of Bige and Minnie Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Lamoine and Gerald Pennington both of Huntsville, son, Travis and husband of 45 years, Harold.
She is survived by her twin sister Donna Maggard and husband Dale of Witter, AR; also her three children; Traci Bailey and husband Steve of Fayetteville, Jamie Hulse of Dallas, Texas, Kristi Carpenter and husband Scott of West Fork and three grandchildren; Kelton, Josi, Hallie and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a Homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, reading, loved all sports and was a big Razorback fan. She loved going shopping with her friends and finding great deals at yard sales. She also loved traveling and had lived in California with her girlfriends when she was younger. She was a huge fan of the Statler Brothers and had seen them in concert many times in Branson. It wasn’t Christmas at her house until you listened to the Statler Brothers Christmas Album. She also loved Elvis, as any Teenager in the 50’s did, and even though Harold gave her a hard time about it, she stayed a true fan. She loved her kids and grandkids and always put their needs and wants before her own. She was generous to a fault and had a multitude of friends in the community where she had lived for 47 years and is going to be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral arrangements are by Moore’s Chapel of Fayetteville. Visitation will be Thursday, June 14th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and the Funeral Service is Friday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.
