Troy J. Thomas, 89, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Windcrest Health and Rehab in Springdale. He was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Madison County to George Washington and Mary Ellen Worth Thomas. He was an employee of the University of Arkansas and a member of Central Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Mae Thomas. Survivors include a son, James T. Thomas; three daughters, Lela Rogers of Fayetteville, Geneva Rye of Fort Smith and Sally Morrison of Bella Vista; two sisters, Zola Johnson and Ruth Hancock, both of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p. m. today at Moore's Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at Central Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery.
