William Paul "Bill" Braun, 53, passed away on Saturday, November 6, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, AR. Bill was born in Baltimore, MD. While still an infant, his mom moved him and his sister, Rose, to Altus, OK. At the age of 8, his mother passed away and he was adopted by Wayne and Maxine Braun. He gained 2 sisters and 2 brothers with the Braun's. Deborah Belcher, Meri Drone, John Braun and Kevin Braun. Some years after Maxine passed away, Wayne married Lavon Bell and Bill gained 2 more brothers, Todd Bell and Jeff Bell.
Bill graduated from Altus High School and moved to Fayetteville AR. In 1991 he joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Forrestal during Desert Storm. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Fayetteville and worked at Love Box Company, Superior Industries, Washington County Juvenile Detention Center and finally ended up at his favorite job of driving a truck for Wynco.
He was a proud step dad to Radley Motes and took that role very seriously. He loved to take Radley and the neighborhood boys on camping trips to Devil's Den. He was at every sporting event and Tae-kwon-do tournament that he possibly could be just to cheer Radley on.
Bill was a proud Godfather to Alexis, Kelsey, Cassie, Tannah, and Leah. He was very proud of the women those girls have become. Bill is also survived by his Kelli Street family, the Balls, the Yochums, the Millers, and the Renzs. Bill loved watching his extended family grow and adopted all the children as his own.
Bill's passions in life included the Dallas Cowboys, woodworking, backyard BBQ, fishing and hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Of all things Bill loved, he loved Linda the most. She was his partner-in-crime, travel buddy, best friend, and the love of his life. He loved to travel throughout the country with her. He made it is job to take care of her and find ways to make her life a little easier.
Bill is survived by his wife of 24 years Linda Kathleen Braun, his step-mother, Lavon Braun, adopted sisters Meri Drone, Deborah Belcher and husband Carl, adopted brothers John Braun and wife Cindy, Kevin Braun and wife Tara, Todd Bell and wife Tina, Jeff Bell, mother and father- in-law, Albert and Frances Radley, Sister-in-laws Susan Radley and Roberta Radley, his best friend since 2nd grade, Bruce Wilson, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Clements, his adoptive parents, Wayne and Maxine Braun, his step-son, Radley Motes and his half-sister, Rose Ballard.
