WASSON, M a h d a - Aunt Marinda Wasson, widow of the late Uncle
Abner Wasson, is very sick at the home of her son-in-law, Jake Reed, west
o{Our Elm Springs correspondent sends us the following account of the death
ofAunt Marinda Wasson) Aunt Marinda Wasson, after an illness of several
weeks, peacefully departed this life at 10 o’clock Sunday night. At her death
Aunt Marinda was 79{sicl years of age. She came with her family to this
country at an early day and when but a mere child she professed religion
and has lived a devoted Christian since. Aunt Marinda was second wife to
the late Uncle Abner Wasson, well known in his day. They lived in peaceful
union for about 9 years when Uncle Abner was called home. Aunt Marinda
was greatly loved and highly respected by all who knew her and not a few
in the final day will call her blessed. When she became aware of the fact
that the voyage for her final resting place was near at hand she quietly
resigned the cares of this life and peacefully breathed away her earthly
existence. A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral
services at the M.E. Church, South which were conducted by Rev. T.A.
Martin and many followed the remains to their last resting place. [The
