HALL, Ann Eliza BLAKMORE - Died at Paris, Texas August 14th,
1870: Mrs. Ann Eliza, wife of T.W. Hall and daughter of L.C. and Charlotte
Blakmore. She was born in Washington county, Arkansas, probably in 1839.
She grew up in early life a pleasant and agreeable girl, much beloved by all
who knew her. Her opportunity for acquiring an education was very good,
which she carefully improved; hence her mind was well cultivated. She
was married July 2nd, 1862. She was a devoted wife and a good neighbor.
She was religiously taught by her parents from her cradle. The writer of
this received her into the M.E. Church South in 1868. She had been in
feeble health about a year and a half previous to her death but was not
generally confined to her bed. She sat up the greater part of the day on
which she died, hence her death was quite unexpected. Under all her affliction
she manifested much patience and resignation to the will of God.
She talked calmly of death without dread. On the 14th of August, in the
31st year of her age, she closed her eyes on the scenes of mortality. The
light of immortality flashed upon her fading vision. The bright fields of
Paradise spread out before her. In her death her husband has lost a faithful
and devoted wife; her father, a lovely and affectionate daughter; her
little children (two in number) a tender and careful mother; and her friends
a highly cherished and faithful confidant. Truly her loss is very greatly
felt; but we mourn, not without hope. We expect to meet her again. L.B.
