Richard L. Swaffar

81, a resident of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home. He was born March 26, 1935 in Purdy, Missouri, the son of Jeff and Ethel (Keeling) Swaffar.

Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Arkansas Cattleman's Association and the Elks Lodge. He retired as a local driver for ABF Freight.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Loy Swaffar and one sister Willa Dean Shepherd.

Survivors include his two sons David Swaffar and wife Dena and Doug Swaffar and wife Tammy all of Farmington; two grandchildren Ashley Swaffar and Dawson Swaffar; two brothers Lavere Swaffar and wife Yvoene of Wheaton, Missouri, and JD Swaffar and wife Glenda of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister Edna Lou Myers and husband Burnis of Butterfield, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 13th, 2017, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held.
