Barbara Bobbi Jo Lewis Powell, of Fayetteville, went to her eternal rest on January 30, 2009.
She was born August 27, 1937, in Washington, D.C. to Richard N. Lewis, Jr. and Alberta Taylor Lewis. She lived in the area of Arlington, Virginia, as a child until the family moved to Oklahoma City in 1949.
While in high school in Oklahoma City, she met her husband, Bruce, and they were later married in 1957.
After Bruce graduated from the University of Oklahoma, they moved around the United States, Germany and Labrador, Canada, while he served in the United States Air Force. Bobbi was a friend to everyone she met. Bobbi was a homemaker who raised four children. She served as an officer in several bowling leagues and Air Force officers wives clubs at the many locations where they were stationed. Her love for her family always came first, and she spent many hours assisting in school events and activities. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and mah jhong, reading, listening to music and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce, of the home Daughter, Teresa and her husband, Paul Fisher of Haltom City, Texas Son, Donald and his wife, Elizabeth of Germantown, Tennessee Son, Michael and his wife, Patty of Mansfield, Texas Son, James and his wife, Susan of Olympia, Washington Nine grandchildren Five great-grandchildren
A visitation will be held at Moores Chapel from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 3291 S. Thompson, Suite D-104 Springdale, AR 72764
