PATTERSON
A beautiful tribute was paid to a Christian mother in the funeral service, held Sunday from the Methodist church in Lincoln, conducted by Rev. J.C. MORRIS, assisted by Rev. DeWitt SANKEY, for Mrs. Maggie H. PATTERSON.
Mrs. PATTERSON died at the home of her son, Oscar PATTERSON, Saturday morning, April 17th, at the age of 91 years.
She was born in Guilford county, North Carolina, January 3, 1852, and married J.B. PATTERSON in 1875. She came with her family from North Carolina in 1881 and settled at Cane Hill, Ark., where she spent the greater part of her life. The last few years having been spent in the home of her son, Oscar, at Westville.
She was the mother of twelve children, ten of whom survive. Oscar and Clyde of Westville, Arthur of Dutch Mills, Ark., Charley of Fullerton, Calif., Lacy of Pamona, Calif., Alpha of Berkely, Calif., Mrs. Mattie BLAKE of Morrow, Ark., Mrs. Lake REED, Siloam Springs, Ark., Mrs. Eula SHANNON, Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Nola CONGER, Fullerton, Calif. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
Burial was in Dutch Mills cemetery beside her husband, who preceded her in death in 1912.
