Marshall Jay “Bird” McCarver
39 a resident of Prairie Grove passed away February 25, 2012 in Colorado. He was born February 7, 1973 in Fayetteville the son of Stanley and Linda Farmer McCarver.
Jay was in the Army National Guard and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He coached his son's baseball team, an avid Razorback fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was employed at Cox Communications for 10 years. He was an outdoors man he loved hunting, fishing and skiing.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Tempy Farmer, Thearn Farmer and Truman McCarver.
Survivors include his wife, Tina McCarver; two sons, Mitchell McCarver of Prairie Grove and Robert Dix of Fayetteville, two daughters, Journey McCarver of Prairie Grove, and Ashley Dix of Fayetteville; his father, Stanley McCarver of Durham, his mother, Linda Farmer McCarver of Springdale; one brother, Richie McCarver of Fayetteville; one sister, Chrissy Goodwin of Farmington; grandmother, Lorene McCarver of Prairie Grove.
Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 - 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Grove Christian Church. Burial will be in National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be: Ricky Farmer, Mark Davis, Shane Cuzick, Frank Huff, Scott Gates, and Gary Love
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Wally Asher, Mitchell McCarver, Cameron Gates, Robert Gates, Jarrod Bradley, Robert Dix, and T J Farmer.
