LONGWITH, James M. – (Evansville Column) Uncle Jimmy Longwith is one of our most industrious farmers. He has a fine farm and plenty of good stock. [Fayetteville Democrat 4/30/1908]

James M. Longwith filed Veteran Application #26627 with the Confederate Pension Board of Washington County for a Confederate pension and it was received as allowed in August of 1924 at the State, citing service with Company A, 2ndArkansas Infantry from 1862 thru 1865. Mr. Longwith died July 14, 1927. His widow, Mrs. J.H. Longwith filed Widow Application #26627 with the Confederate Pension Board of Washington County for a Confederate widow pension and it was received as allowed in August of 1927 at the State.
