Rhea, Washington County, Arkansas
RHEA, Fannie - There was great surprise and sorrow here last Thursday
on receipt of the intelligence that Miss Fannie Rhea had died at Rhea’s
Mill the day before. While visiting her sister, Mrs. J.H. McIlroy, in this city
a few weeks ago she was summoned home to attend the bedside of another
sister, Miss Alice Rhea, who was very low with typhoid fever. The latter is
now convalescing but Miss Fannie contracted the same disease and now
lies in the tomb. She was a most excellent young lady, of noble qualities of
head and heart, and her untimely death brings sorrow not only to her immediate
family but to numerous friends. A number of people from this city
attended the funeral. [Fayetteville Democrat 11/7/1890]
