Edward Carney, 25,
a local grocer, died at 9:30 Mond morning to bring to three t fatalities which resulted in automobile accident between Fayetteville and Greenland Sunday evening. W. D. Shanks, 50 and Mack Dye, 51, both of West Fork, were killed instantly.
Shanks was found lying face-down in the ditch, about ten feet from the over, head crushed. Carney and Dye were found along the highway a short distance away. Dye's principal injuries we e to his head and Carney's boy was injured. The car was headed south when it over turned from an unestablished cause, coming to rest in an up right position on the side of the shoulder without having left the embankment. Carney was buried here Tuesday afternoon from the Cumberland church with Rev. F. A. Bell in charge.
Edward Clinton Carney, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Carney was born at Moffit Sept. 17, 1910. I-lee came to Prairie Grove about four years ago and has been associated with his uncle, Ed. Rich, in the grocer business.
He is survived by his parents, one sister, Bernice and one brother, Wilbur, all of Prairie Grove.
