Jesse Homer Copeland
89, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas passed away July 29, 2008 at his home near Lincoln, Arkansas He was born October 20, 1918 at Orr, Oklahoma the son of James Lee and Jennie Dickey Copeland.
Jesse was a member of the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. He participated in the CC Camps in early 1930's. He was the Scout Master for Troop 316 in Cement, Oklahoma for seven years and was head of construction for 18 1/2 years for Stanley-Barber Company in Fort Smith before retiring to become a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Audra Fay Perkins Copeland of the home; four sons, James Copeland of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Kenneth Copeland of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Greg Copeland of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Jack Copeland of Moultrie, Georgia; two daughters, Darlene Copeland of Lincoln, Arkansas and Patricia Tilson of Bakersfield, Missouri; one sister, Christine Norton of Huguton, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren;
Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas
Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 2:00 P.M. New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church near Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Glen Faulkner and Paul Woodhouse officiating with burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons Brad Copeland, Greg Tilson, Casey Copeland, Shane Copeland, John Copeland and Alex Copeland
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesse Piearcy, Eugene Piearcy, Sam Sorensen and Les Jones.
